Tanabata, or star festival, tells the story of two lovers, separated by the milky way, who are only allowed to meet once a year on the 7th day of the 7th month. Japan celebrates this holiday by writing wishes and attaching them on bamboo trees hoping it would come true. Although I have never personally experienced this holiday in the past, I daydream of it every year and wish to celebrate it with someone special in the future. ⠀⠀

About the Daydreams collection :

"Inspired by my travels around Japan, the show Daydreams takes inspiration from the beautiful sights I've been lucky to see among the different seasons of the year and the love I feel for Japan and its culture. On this year when I feel the most static, unable to travel, I've created the pieces thinking of the past and dreaming of the future, welcoming 2021 with a brighter, more positive outlook for everyone."
